My story

Meet Lilly! This beautiful 60 pound girl has such a beautiful story. Miss Lilly was an emotional support doggie to her owner who suddenly passed away. Right after, she was taken to the Bernalillo Shelter where she was soon put on their Euthanasia list. A friend of the lady who previously owned Lilly contacted us in hopes that we could save her as she knew what an amazing and sweet girl she was. Lilly has been through some traumatic things, and came to us very shy, but has opened up to the kindness of the staff here at Watermelon, and we all just love her so much! Currently here at the Ranch she has shown that she needs to be an only dog/pet in the home. Lilly is going through some new behaviors since she has been on a couple trial adoptions. We have discovered that she needs to not only be a single dog in the home BUT she can only have one person in the home living with her. She does not like to share her space or attention with anyone except her parent. This behavior may change over time once she gets comfortable in her new environment, but this is her current behavior when she first goes to a new home.
