My story

We have had so many mama dogs come in and it isn't even spring. The shelter is a reminder of how disappointing humans can be and also how wonderful and forgiving dogs are. Laffy Taffy is young and so skinny. Her back bones protrude while her boobs hang full of the milk that was made for her babies. We DON'T know where they are so please don't ask. Laffy Taffy is our focus. She is lovely. In a short time, her body has already started to bounce back - the benefits of young motherhood. Laffy Taffy loves quality time with our volunteers too. She now needs her own full-time people to love her. Arrived at the shelter 2/3/25 For questions, please email caccadoptables@gmail.com *Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL *The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. *All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. *Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
