Sex: MaleBreed: McNabEstimated Date of Birth : 09/17/2023McNabs are known for their loyal nature and keen intelligence. A hardy breed they were bred to withstand California’s rugged terrain but aren’t as hyperactive as most other herding breeds. We believe this is exactly what the beautiful Silas’ heritage is. He fits the bill both in personality and looks. An uncommon breed for sure but as we are situated in an agricultural community we see a lot of McNabs and other herding breeds come through our shelter system. If you’re looking for something as unusual as a McNab Silas wont disappoint. He’s a beautiful example of the breed incredibly loyal to the people in his life with the protective instincts some families want. He’s eager to please and even more eager to bond. This boy needs a family of his own. We wish we knew Silas’ story. All we know is he was adopted from our county shelter in September of last year and then ended up back at the shelter January of this year. His adoptive family never came for him and he was out of time. Every single volunteer and staff member at the shelter loved this sweet boy so we had to give him his chance. This time we are determined to ensure his future family is a good one and Silas will never be abandoned again! Silas would be a wonderful addition to most homes. He’s extremely sweet and social. He loves other dogs and has a playful fun personality. He’s super smart already picking up on training activies with ranch staff and very eager to please. This big boy is very in tune to the people in his life and wants to bond with them so bad. He just needs that perfect family to bond with. If you’re looking for a less common breed and a really cool dog consider giving Silas the home he’s waiting for. He’s waiting patiently for you!
