This little guy is full of personality—he's friendly, adventurous, and always up for cuddles. He loves being held like a baby! Max is early-on in foster care and has already made a splash—literally! He learned to swim at just six weeks old by jumping off a boat, and now can't resist the water, whether it's a creek, ditch, or puddle. Like any young pup, he's still working on house training and basic commands, but he’s eager to learn. He does well with other dogs, understanding their boundaries, and greets new people with enthusiasm. Max loves to carry his toys around and will keep you entertained with his playful antics. He would thrive in any loving home with a secure fenced yard, a well-trained and patient canine mentor, and pyr-ents who are ready to train him up in the ways of good boys. If you're looking for a sweet, spirited companion, Maxwell is your little guy! - Written by K.P. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. February 23, 2025, 10:38 am
