Despite this rocky start, he quickly found comfort in a foster home where he spent about three months. In that home, he showed his wonderful qualities: he was good with kids, crate-trained, house-trained, and absolutely adored KONG Extreme balls and toys! His foster family described him as smart, easy to train, and loving.However, during his foster stay, Emiliano had another incident where he bit an Amazon delivery driver and did have an incident with a member of the family that did not live in the home, but entered with their parents permission. This highlights his protective tendencies and potential resource guarding of his home and people. Because of this, we highly recommend his new family work with a professional trainer to ensure he thrives and feels secure in his forever home.To help him feel safe and to keep everyone comfortable, when new people (family or visitors) come over, Emiliano should spend time securely in his crate or a separate room. This prevents him from feeling the need to protect his space or loved ones.When introduced to other dogs at PACC, Emiliano can be a little forward and assertive. He`ll need to meet any potential canine housemates to ensure a good fit. He can also be reactive to other dogs when separated by barriers like fences or while on leash.If you`re looking for a loving companion and believe your home offers a calm, low-traffic environment where Emiliano can feel safe and continue to grow, please come to PACC and ask to meet him!Adoption Process:All interested parties must meet the dog at PACC before their deadline. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with.
