River

My story

River is a 7-year-old boy who was an owner surrender. The family had to move into a home with a very small yard and felt that this big guy deserved space to run! As a coon hound mix, River is 18 inches tall and weighs 47 pounds. River has the softest blue tick coat you will ever feel, and he loves people stoking him! This boy eats up all the attention you can give. He is fully house broken though he does currently use a dog door. He is good with kids and other dogs. He is not much of a player but enjoys joining the call to the pack for a squirrel sighting! River has joined a group training class because he pulls hard when walking. He is a smart boy plus he loves those little training treats! He knows the command to come, place, sit and down. He is working on stay but as with most hounds, that one may be hard to master! He is walking much better after only 2 classes! River needs a family that will give him a ton of loving with lots of activity. He also wants a family that doesn’t mind a large lap dog! Give this boy a chance…he is one of the best!
