Almendra (CP)

My story

***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Aloha! My name is Almendra, and I’m a gorgeous girl with humble beginnings looking for my human best friend! I was found by Surfer for Strays in the trash, scrounging for food and a safe place to sleep. You can imagine how thrilled I was to be taken in for a bath (or two!), some kibble, and a crate to call my own. Also, loads of new friends!  I absolutely adore hanging out with the other canines in the rescue! Some of other, bigger dogs like me have to be kept away from the puppies because they like to play a little rough, but not me! I’m an expert at adjusting my playfulness levels to adapt to the size and age of the other dogs in my company. I can even act as one-dog-welcoming-crew to the newcomers! I remember how lonely I felt before coming here, and I don’t want any of the other pups to feel that way! I would do great in a home with another doggie friend to play with and find comfort in. Humans still make me a little nervous. They’re so much bigger and taller than me, and even though I am forever grateful for the home they’ve given me here I can’t always tell which ones are trustworthy and which ones aren’t. My new best friend will need to commit to spending lots of time with me one-on-one so we can learn to equally love and trust one another. Once we’ve forged a bond I’m certain I’ll be the best decision any person could make, I’m just a little shy at first. I’m not super food motivated, but there are so many dog-safe human foods that I’ve yet to try! I’m sure we could figure something out .  I hope you’ll consider giving me a chance to change your life.
