My story

Meet Thornton, a resilient and gentle 3-year-old German Shepherd who’s ready for his second chance at life. After a tough start filled with uncertainty and trauma, this sweet boy is now safe in a loving foster home, where he’s finally getting the time and care he needs to heal—physically and emotionally. Though initially shy around new people, Thornton is making wonderful progress every day. With patience and kindness, he begins to open up and show the affectionate, loyal dog he truly is. Once you earn his trust, he becomes a devoted companion who will quietly follow you around, always keeping a soft eye on his person. Thornton is currently living with five other dogs in his foster home and absolutely thrives in their company. He’s dog-friendly, well-mannered, and often finds confidence by watching his furry friends. A home with another calm and friendly dog could be a great match to help him continue blossoming. He has a naturally gentle spirit and a calm demeanor that makes him easy to be around. He’s not the kind of dog who demands attention—he’s just happy to be near you, especially once he feels safe.
