If you love a dog that is as entertaining as they are loving- meet Ollie Ziggy! He seriously radiates happiness and love and is one of the most joyful dogs I have ever met. Estimated to be 1.5 years old, Ollie is possibly a pittie/lab mix. Age and breed are offered with no guarantee given Ollie is a rescue, but that personality guarantees itself and it is hard not to love. He is good company, attentive, eager to please, affectionate, fun-loving, and all around a friendly boy! He is incredibly soft so he might be mixed with labrador or Shepherd. If you’re looking for a dog that is confident to load up and go anywhere with you, including trail walks, or even just to Run Errands, it would be him. He is confident and outgoing and joyful. He’s going to be someone’s best friend. He’s also a pretty easy size. He’s not huge. He loads right up in the car on his own and he’s ready to go. See for yourself right here! https://youtu.be/BuEDTcOK4c0?si=zmxTYo6BQQhVhAMP Ollie absolutely loved meeting my seven-year-old son. They hung out for a while, and when my son laid down, Ollie even laid next to him to chew on a toy. If you have kids age 7 and up, they would probably appreciate the fun personality and playfulness of Ollie. Kids love a dog that will interact with them and that’s Ollie. He took treats really gently from my son’s hand, which is another thing I love as a parent. When it was time to settle down, he just took a toy and laid down on the floor to keep himself occupied. I love this about him! He’s able to read the room. I also appreciate how quickly he will sit down when he’s told to because it makes it a lot easier to introduce him to kids. Also, whenever you could tell the energy was coming down in the room, he laid down on the floor and splooted with his back legs out. It’s pretty cute. It’s a pittie thing! I want to highlight that expressive face complete with ears that practically have their own personality- bouncy and pointy while also being floppy. Second to that would be his gorgeous red/brown coat highlighted with white socks and a white stretch down his chest. his gorgeous buttery color and shiny coat. You will have a front row seat to all the details of Ollie’s good looks because he is an absolute lover and will be in your lap at the first sight of you sitting down looking somewhat available. Next, the best part-his personality! This is where he glows! First, he doesn’t know a stranger, everyone gets a Ollie greeting, full of friendly, excited joy. He is young so still learning that people can see him even if he doesn’t jump up. He is learning quickly and has been so receptive to corrections and positive reinforcement which is basically accomplished with a handful of treats and a voice full of praise. He does know sit and has been practicing his auto sit which is coming along great- we love how receptive he has been to training. If you live in a walkable neighborhood he is going to be a regular on the block and may even be the first one who gets greeted by the neighbors. His playful nature is one that would be best suited for a house with a yard. Be prepared to watch him bounce around the yard, throw a toy around, and then slink himself into a shady spot of grass to relax. The truth is you may occasionally see him throw his soft toys in the house too, gently of course but we love a toy-loving, self-entertaining dog. His friendly and joyful nature carries itself right into how he approaches dogs. On leash passing a dog was when he first showed signs of being such a playful boy. He has great basic leash skills but his whole body was full of contained excitement as a dog approached. It was easy to keep him from insisting on meeting. He is easy to redirect and get to focus on continuing. When introduced to a dog on leash we knew what to expect, playfulness front and center and he delivered. He was polite, with appropriate doggie manners, but gave a play bow and some tippy tappy moves to show the other dog that he was interested and ready to play. Once leashes were dropped off they went, a chase followed by a bouncy sort of wrestle that they both enjoyed so much. This is a dog that would love a playful canine companion. Other dogs were introduced and he was just as polite but his true play match was in the first dog he met, a larger female with a happy-go-lucky approach to play. It was nice to see how respectful he was of the dogs that were not interested in playing despite his invites, he wasn’t pushy and easily moved on. When introduced to our house cat he saw a friend and immediately wanted to play and despite our house cat being confident with dogs, he was overwhelmed. So despite the fact that it was in good fun, Ollie would do best in a cat-free home to avoid him attempting to chase the cat in an effort to “play.” So if you are looking for a happy-heart on four legs, your search is over, you found him! We call him Ollie but you can call him yours in a zippy! If you have any questions about Ollie or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
