She may have been the 6th puppy born in this litter, but she leads the pack in being the first to try new things! New Year’s Day 2025, Strudel’s mama Ophelia gave the miracle of life to this litter of 7 mixed pups that we are calling Ophelia’s New Year’s Treats—Danish, Caramel, Truffle (boys) and Hazel, Strudel, Chiffon, and Cupcake (girls). These babies are being raised with exposure to kitties and to adult Pyrs. Strudel is having the time of her life with her siblings where they get to play, sleep, eat, and repeat all day long! These kiddos are so smart and learning fun things like following their mama out the dog door, pulling her tail, and the proper place to go potty. Strudel loves life, people, and will sometimes sit and take it all in. She loves to get cuddled, lean into her person, and give a little swat with her paw. Strudel will need a home with a secure five-foot fenced yard and a male canine companion for playtime, socialization, and companionship. If you love a scrumptious Strudel, apply today! If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. February 24, 2025, 5:19 pm
