Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young girl ready to play! GINGERSNAP NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Gingersnap and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (06/15) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)! Name: Gingersnap Best Guess for Breed: Terrier and lab mix Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of February 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 36 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them. Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter foster home; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here! Gingersnap is Looking For: This sweetie has been lucky once already! She and her buddy Gilligan were stray and found by the right person - someone who took them in and committed to getting them into their own homes. They both were heartworm positive, and we at Lucky Dog took care of their treatment. They have remained in their finder's care throughout this time, as well-loved indoor dogs. Their finder already has six large dogs of their own, so Gingersnap's best chance at a forever home is here in the DC area. She's eager to have her own humans for long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. She'd love to make pup and people pals along the way. And quality kibble, cushy dog bed, chew dog toys - yes, please, to all those. But above all she wants to be safe and loved, to know where she belongs - and upon whom to bestow all those happy tail wags, to whom to pledge loyal companionship. Are you going to be the lucky recipient - and Gingersnap's second lucky break too? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once this pup has arrived in the DC area and spent some time in foster care. Special adoption considerations: Gingersnap is a truly Lucky Dog! She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
