My story

FOR LISTING ONLY Name: Sweetpea Tinkerton and Peanut Fluffernutter Age: Kitten /DOB: 10/10/24 Weight: 4 lb and 5 lb Gender: Female / Male Breed:  Domestic Short Hair / Tabby Mix Coat Length: Short Color: Tabby / Black Dog friendly: Gentle cat-savvy dogs Cat friendly:  Yes Child friendly: Older, gentle children, please Litter Box Trained:  Yes Temperament:  Sweet, Curious, Loving, Playful Energy Level:  Kitten Adoption Fee: 280+tax, fee includes both felines To adopt, go to: http://www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html  From the Foster Family:  Sweetpea Tinkerton and her brother Peanut Fluffernutter were a litter of 4 born to a sweet momma cat who lives in a shed at my parents' property for sale.  I brought Sweetpea Tinkerton and her brother to my home as it was starting to get cold out, and I knew they wouldn’t survive if I left them there.  Sweetpea is a special needs kitten with a neurological condition often known as cerebellar hypoplasia, a developmental condition in which the brain's cerebellum  fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious and she's otherwise a normal happy thriving kitty who wobbles when she walks.    While most people when they see this, feel sorry for the cat.  However, after watching Sweetpea Tinkerton, I can honestly say she has taught me a lot.  She is a go-getter, and at times has a diva attitude when she does not want to be held and just wants to play.  I cannot say enough about this kitten, she truly is one of a kind.  We have two resident cats, our sweet girl Faith, who sadly doesn’t want anything to do with the kittens.  Butterbean on the other hand is very curious about them.  He will come downstairs where they stay and watch them from a distance, but oddly enough is afraid of them.  Sweetpea Tinkerton is curious about Butterbean but doesn’t have the ability or want to chase him as her brother Peanut does.  She is going to bring so much joy to her next forever home.  She loves her brother dearly and will be lost if he cannot be with her in her forever home. About Me:  My name is Sweetpea Tinkerton and my favorite thing to do is play.  I love playing with my brother, Peanut Fluffernutter.  I have a lot of energy, especially in the morning, so I’ll need a lot of space because I do a lot of hopping, which is how I run.  I’m very curious and love to check out any nook and cranny I can.  I was rescued from a shed with other feral cats in and out, so I’m not afraid of other cats.  I love toys, though after a bit I do grow somewhat bored of them and like to explore new things.  I love to chase toy mice, or balls that are thrown in the air or across the room.  My favorite toy is a ball with a bell in it.  I love interacting with my human(s).  But most of all, I want to play.  I am a little messy in the bathroom, so I am going to need someone who won’t get mad at me when I don’t quite make it into the litter box.  I’m wobbly, so I do my best.  I am getting stronger every day and though I love to be pet, I prefer to play. Carpet rooms work better for me to move around on.  Uncarpeted floors are a little more difficult for me to navigate as my legs get away from me and I end up flat on the floor most of the time.  I love to do somersaults.  Being a special needs kitty, I shouldn't be left unattended in large areas for long periods.  If I have no adult supervision, a smaller space is safest – maybe until I am older, and know my space well.  I love my brother Peanut Fluffernutter very much and will be lost if he cannot be a part of my forever home. About Me:  My name is Peanut Fluffernutter and my favorite thing to do is play.  I love playing with and protecting my special needs sister, Sweetpea Tinkerton.  I have a lot of energy, especially in the morning, so I’ll need a lot of space because I do a lot of running.  I’m very curious and love to check out any nook and cranny I can.  I was rescued from a shed with other feral cats in and out, so I’m not afraid of other cats.  I love toys, though after a bit I do grow somewhat bored of them and like to.  I watch over my sister and even cover her potties when she's done in the litter box to help her out. I love her so much and will always be her guiding light. March 10, 2025, 7:03 pm
