My story

Named after a small Texas town, Coolidge the cat comes from a home where many felines carried a bit of Lone Star charm. Though his beginnings were quiet and unsure, Coolidge has been learning what it means to trust and love in foster care—and he`s made great strides.This shy tabby may not rush up for cuddles, but his progress has been heartwarming. He’s the kind of cat who observes from a safe spot, takes his time, and when the moment is right—he’ll give a gentle headbutt or softly rub against your leg to say, “I’m starting to trust you.”Coolidge is active mostly at night, when the world is quiet and safe, and sometimes when he thinks no one is watching, he`ll play or explore with cautious curiosity. He’s picky with toys but has a soft spot for squeeze treats and will turn into a biscuit-making machine when he’s feeling good. His favorite toys are specific (shoutout to a certain red holiday wand!) and he prefers cozy hideouts like bathtubs or closets, especially if they come with a window view.He is litter-box trained, respectful of houseplants and countertops, and hasn`t shown any escape artist tendencies. While he may swat when startled or annoyed, he prefers to flee rather than fight.Coolidge isn’t quite the cuddly lap cat (yet), but he has potential with a patient, understanding person who respects his pace. He’s looking for a calm, quiet home with space to roam, hide, and watch the world go by. He’d likely do best as a solo pet or with very mellow animal companions, and he might not be suited for young kids or energetic dogs.This boy has come a long way—from hiding to headbutts—and he`s still on his journey. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in earning an animal’s trust, Coolidge might just be your perfect quiet companion.**Bonus:** He has adorable little `sock` markings on his back paws and a big, expressive face that just makes you root for him.
