Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. AJ is a 1.5-year-old dog who has spent his entire life in foster care after being born in a shelter. He has a stable temperament for a puppy, is highly trainable, and is ready for adoption. AJ’s Best Qualities Well-Behaved and Responsive to Training – AJ is housebroken, crate-trained, and knows commands including "Stop," "Go," "Wait," "Sit," "No," and "Drop it." He responds well to positive reinforcement. Social and Friendly—AJ enjoys being around people and other dogs. He is affectionate and thrives in a home where he can interact regularly with his family. Adaptable and Resilient – Despite growing up in a shelter and foster care, AJ has adjusted well to different environments. He has no destructive tendencies and maintains a stable demeanor. Food-Motivated – He enjoys training and learning new skills, especially when food is involved. He eats a variety of foods, including fruits and vegetables. Physically Active – AJ enjoys long walks and active play. He is still learning his leash manners but has made steady progress. Considerations for His Ideal Home Active Household – AJ does best in a home that provides regular exercise, training, and engagement. Children Over 10 – Due to his size (70 lbs) and enthusiasm, he is better suited to a home with older children who understand how to interact with large dogs. Continued Training – AJ would benefit from continued reinforcement of leash training and socialization, particularly in high-distraction environments. Space to Play – A yard or regular access to open space would be ideal, as he enjoys running and playing. Age: 1.5 years Weight: 70lbs Temperament: He is best with adults and teens. Good with dogs with proper introductions. Better with female or submissive dogs. May chase cats but shows no aggression Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, obedience-trained Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: sunnigyrl77@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. May 4, 2025, 5:13 pm
