Marley

My story

Marley is a sweet old man with some particular quirks and preferences. Now that he is in his golden years, he has certainly earned that right! If you are looking for a snuggly homebody who loves being near his favorite people, Marley just might be the perfect fit. When Marley goes out on a walk, he tends to be very opinionated and vocal. Using treats to calm him down has proved helpful. He also has a hankering for certain forbidden street snacks -- particularly napkins and tissues -- but is willing to trade them for a treat. According to Marley's foster parent, he is the "perfect gentleman" around the house. His favorite treats are carrots, and he thoroughly enjoys solving puzzle toys. He happily greets visitors and enjoys making new friends. Marley has exhibited some fear-based reactivity around tall, masculine-presenting people. We have documentation of a certain man antagonizing him when he lived with his previous owner, so this trauma response makes sense. With patience and positive-reinforcement training, we believe he can eventually overcome his fear.
