Hi! My name is CHARLOTTE and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Terrier/Lab Mix (best guess, really!) Age: approx. 2 years Gender: Female Weight: 28 lbs (12.8 kgs) Height: 57 cm (paws to top of my head), 45 cm (paws to shoulders) Length: 67 cm (head to butt) Neck Circumference: 32 cm Chest Circumference: 59 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - I was found abandoned in a ravine in Los Dinamos along with my puppy. Luckily, we were rescued and taken to safety at the La Casa del Mestizo shelter where we received the love and care we were so craving! Here is a video of me getting my first grooming session right after I was rescued; I was looking pretty matted and dirty after being on the streets. My puppy has already found a home, but I am still waiting for my chance at a loving, forever home. TEMPERAMENT - I am a gentle, calm, obedient and incredibly affectionate girl. I loveeee a good neck scratch and am eager for cuddles. I'm pretty neutral around other dogs but occasionally like to try to instigate some play (video). I would love a home where I can relax and get lots of love, paired with boundaries, structure, and training to help set me up for success! ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - Once I've had some exercise, I am more than happy to snooze and cuddle! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – unknown. same with ALL dogs, I should be supervised around children. My humans need to advocate for my space and make sure I'm respected :) Dogs – Yup! I get along well with the other dogs at the shelter. I do enjoy my space though, so as you can see in this video, I will advocate for my space if other dogs get in my face when I'm not in the mood. I am looking for adopters who set me up for success by keeping me in neutral environments where dogs don't invade my personal space and I can do doggy introductions at a slower pace. Cats – unknown. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. I'm an excitable gal on leash and can be jumpy and distracted (video). I'm looking for an adopter who will show me the ropes and teach me how to be a superstar on leash. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help me be successful! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 (including GST & PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live. WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates. ##2316421##
