My story

Hi my name is Peony! I’m a beautiful 10-year-old brown tabby with a heart full of love. My journey has had its ups and downs - Smittens took me in after I was surrendered by my owner to Los Angeles Animal Control due to financial hardships. I was living as an outdoor cat at the time and had some medical issues. I needed an abdominal wall hernia repair plus some teeth extracted. I’m feeling so much better now! After an initial warmup, I’m a mellow, affectionate, talkative, and purr-tastic companion who loves pets and head scratches. If you stop petting me, I’ll give you a sweet little head-butt to remind you I’m not done soaking up the love! Occasionally, I’ll let you know when I’ve had my fill of pets with a little nibble - I just know what I want and when I want it. I also adore being brushed - I’ll purr up a storm when you do! I enjoy playing with toys and can keep myself entertained for hours, especially with feather wand toys or even chasing my own tail! I’m also quite the expert climber and explorer - I’m very curious about my surroundings. A gradual introduction to other cats would help me feel most comfortable. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home - a cozy, caring place where I can spend my golden years feeling safe and cherished. I can’t wait to meet my new family!
