My story

I’m Berney and they say I am a high positive for heartworms. The people at FCAS were really worried about me and posted a medical foster plea to Facebook which someone shared to a Boxer group. That’s where my foster parents come into the picture. My foster mom says she saw my smooshy face, read the plea and emailed right away.My foster mom says that my ears are like velvet; I don`t know what that is but I sure like it when she rubs them. I have been hanging out with my foster dad, in his office, while he works. He says I just like to lay around and even though he has a loveseat that I am welcome to lie on I just like to lay near him. They both give me lots of belly rubs, and I love those.My foster mom says I’m kennel trained which is good since I require constant rest and no excitement. She does this thing where she looks at her watch and checks my breaths and pulse and listens to me breathing with this thing on my chest. Then she tells me that I’m a good boy and they’re going to help get me well so I can find a furever home.I love car rides and every time they walk me out to go potty I want to jump in and go for a ride. I want to explore but because of these heartworms they won’t let me off the leash. I do know the command to sit.My foster mom said that unlike my foster siblings I am not afraid of storms. There was a big storm with lots of noise and flashing lights. I barked because I needed to potty. She said I led her out in the storm, and rain, and did my business and was calm. She said it made her sad to think maybe I might have been living outside in that type of weather.I haven’t met my fur siblings because I can’t play or be excited, but I hear them and want to get well so I can play.Stay tuned for updates because I’m determined to get well and find a furever home.
