My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats.I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.Tom has improved since his first assessment. He was laying calmly on top of the den and gave a few slow blinks. He sniffed squeeze up treat but without eating it and then allowed gentle petting on his head and cheek. He remain calm and interested without being particularly demonstrative but he's doing well.Tom interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. We recommend that HE go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in being over handled. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.
