My story

Wanna play? Benny does! Life is a game for him, and everything (including your hands and feet) is a cat toy and literally up for grabs. Benny's owner loved and cared for cats all her life, but she developed dementia as well as physical problems and did not realize that she was not providing adequate care. She had Benny shut up in a basement for many months, did not always remember to provide food and water where he could get to them, and had stopped cleaning his litter box. After being rescued from his "prison", Benny was taken into a foster home, where he is a happy little monkey. He will get onto and into everything, so the best situation for him and his humans is probably one without a lot of stuff and clutter around, where delicate things are out of his reach. He deserves humans who will appreciate his antics. He really likes to be around his people, so he should not be shut up in a room by himself again, although it's fine to keep some rooms off limits to him. Benny likes to sleep on the bed next to you and help you get up in the morning with lots of head rubbing, kissing, and loud purrs. He really enjoys the company of his humans, although he is not a lap cat at this time. He likes pets on the head and sides of his face and scratches under his chin. He is genuinely affectionate and licks a lot, but he hasn't quite figured out yet that play-biting is not appreciated. If you are a patient person who will enjoy the company of a silly, mischievous cat and find him entertaining, then this endearing, loopy little goofball is the perfect cat for you!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Benny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
