River

My story

Sweet River came to VOCAL very emaciated, scarred, and frightened. He had definitely been through a lot, but despite these challenges River has been gentle and friendly to everyone who he's met. Because of the challenges River faced, he does not walk on a leash but is working on his leash skills everyday. He has also made doggy friends in playgroup, where we see a different, more confident, side of River that we hadn't seen around humans. River would benefit most being adopted to a home with another dog to help bring that confidence out. In a previous home, River even made friends with children and was good around them. With patience and love, River can succeed in living out a happy and comfortable life like he deserves.
