My story

Meet Othello – Your Next Playtime Partner! Othello is a 2-year-old, 47-pound bundle of energy and personality who's on the lookout for his forever home. If you're searching for a high-spirited, toy-obsessed buddy to keep life exciting, this fun-loving pup might just be your perfect match! This guy is extremely toy motivated—he lives for a good game of (kinda) fetch. He’ll zoom after a thrown ball and proudly bring it back... but good luck getting it from him! Othello turns every fetch session into a fun game of tug and chase, and he’s happiest when you're playing right along with him. He’s a bit of a jumper, especially when meeting new people or coming out of his kennel, but it’s all out of excitement. With some space to run and a yard to call his own, Othello is in his element—he absolutely thrives when he can let loose and be his wild, goofy self. He’s a great passenger in the car once he settles, and giving him a toy helps calm him quickly. Othello walks pretty well on a leash after he’s had a chance to burn off some energy—yes, he pulls a bit, but at 47 pounds, he’s manageable and not a strong puller. Othello seems to be house-trained and always chooses grassy patches to do his business. He’s also impressively non-reactive to other dogs and hasn't been much of a barker. Out in public, he’s very curious but well-mannered, and once he’s tuckered out, he’ll flop right over for belly rubs and cuddles. He knows his name, though he’s selective about when he wants to listen (we love a dog with a little sass). He absolutely adores people and soaks up affection—after playtime, he’s all about chill time. If you're ready for a lovable goofball with a big heart and an even bigger toy collection, Othello is ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of play into your life. Come meet him—he's already dreaming of yard zoomies and belly rubs with you! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Othello, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
