My story

Names: Bogo and Stormy (females)   Ages: 7   Weights: Bogo is 24 pounds and Stormy is 12 pounds   Medical Needs: Bogo has tested positive for FIV. Please do research on FIV if you are interested in adopting Bogo. Because she is healthy otherwise, she may live a long and healthy life. FIV can be transmitted to other cats through bite wounds, so it could be an issue for Bogo to live with another cat who may instigate fights. Bogo does not fight with the resident cat in the foster home. Because Stormy is negative for FIV and they have been living together for many years, the vet does not believe they they need to be separated in any way.    Bogo is eating a healthy weight food to see if we can get her weight down a little bit.   Stormy does not have any known medical issues.    Background: Stormy and Bogo were born in the summer of 2017 and adopted. Their beloved owner sadly passed away, and they ended up back in foster care. They have been loved and well taken care of for most (or all) of their lives and are friendly and loving cats.    Good with other cats and dogs? Stormy and my resident cat are adjusting to each other, but still give each other a hiss and side eye when they pass each other. Bogo doesn't pay much mind to the other cat. Bogo and Stormy can often be found laying together, but Stormy does like to go out and explore the house more. Bogo will give Stormy a cleaning sometimes.    They are both surprisingly tolerant of the dogs, for having not lived with them in their previous home. They may give a hiss if the dogs if they get to on their face, but otherwise they are happy to hang out with them.    Personalities: Bogo and Stormy are a delightful pair of cats. It didn't take them too long to adjust to their foster home and have shown themselves to be sweet and friendly. They love to be pet and brushed, and both enjoy playing with toys. Stormy is the braver of the two and loves to explore and jump up onto different areas. She loves to look out the window and watch for birds. Bogo lays around more (as you can probably guess), but enjoys her play time (which I refer to as her daily work outs). They will both burrow themselves under blankets and curl up, which is the cutest thing ever. Bogo and Stormy are absolutely delightful cats who will be sure to provide you with great company and keep you laughing.    Funny quirks: Bogo pulls dryer sheets out of the trash and tries to tear them up. Stormy will try to eat plants, so they need to be kept where she can't get them, especially any toxic ones. Okay, that quirk is more annoying than funny. Stormy will demand to be let into the bathroom if you go in without you and will follow you around making the funniest sounds.    We are going to try to find a family who can keep Bogo and Stormy together, as they clearly love each other and have been together all of their lives. Please spread the word to help Stormy and Bogo find their new family!   Location: Stormy and Bogo are being fostered in Newark, Delaware    Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app ##2333757##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Stormy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
