Buddy (CP)

My story

***Currently located in Portland, OR*** Hi there, they call me Buddy! I’m from the streets of Delano, California where I was living off the yummy local hospital food scraps until I won the heart of one of the travel nurses working there. The next thing I know I got loaded up in a plane and flew to Portland, Oregon with her.  My thick fur is loving the cooler weather here in Oregon, and I have learned so much from my adoring foster family. I walk on a leash, am fully potty trained, and know multiple commands. I am very smart and treat motivated and I just want to make my humans happy. I can be left at home while you’re at work with no issues. I am still navigating the dangers of walking on hardwood floors though.  Even though I am young, I am more of an old soul, and love being outside and lounging in a big backyard. However I am growing accustomed to a comfy bed and blanket with lots of stuffed animals when I’m inside. I love being around my people as well as meeting new people. I have so much love to give. I definitely don’t realize how big I am and I will definitely try to sit in your lap. I am a pretty chill and independent dog once I get to know you. I love jumping in the car to go check out new spots to sniff. I have had some encounters with young children and puppies, and I think I would do best handling these encounters slowly and with an owner who is knowledgeable about shepherd breed behaviors because new things are scary. I am my best self with proper mental and physical exercise. I would do best in a family with older children, and could do well with a family with older animals with the right parents who are willing to work with me. I am currently working with a trainer on leash and dog reactivity and have learned so much!
