Looking for a big bestie for your small dogs? Cashew is your guy! Cashew is estimated to be just two years old, and we believe he’s a Lab, Carolina dog mix. He is a rescue so these are simply our best guesses! Cash currently weighs in at just 39 pounds. Fall in love with Cashew here: https://youtu.be/H5n0ond-ZAc?feature=shared Cashew is a true people lover. He’s a snuggly sweet guy, with an affinity for sitting right in your lap. He likes to accompany his foster dad in watching TV, and enjoys softly playing with toys or his foster doggy siblings right at his feet. When you first meet Cashew, he can be a bit shy, but a few moments and soft gentle voices will warm him up to you in a snap. Cash has a wonderfully balanced energy level, he can be playful and fun loving, but he also has a softer side to him. Lots of naps, snuggle sessions and calm evenings together will underscore a life of silliness and fun with this guy. Cashew is small dog friendly and lives with a ten pound rat terrier mix and a twenty pound heeler mix. They’re all the best of friends, enjoying spirited session of chase and wrestling outdoors, and softer play inside. They’ll even all pile up in a snuggle-puddle at the end of the day, it’s the sweetest thing. We had the opportunity to see Cashew meet two other dogs in his time with us, one an uber dog-friendly Pittie girl who he coexisted well with. The other, a confident but less playful male black lab mix. He seemed more excited to hang out with the lab, the calmer of the two! Slow introductions are the key to a perfect match for Cash, we think he could thrive with just about any type of dog! Cashew also adores toys. He can entertain himself with a toy for hours. He shares toys, furniture and even his crate well with other dogs. Cash has some basic leash manners already, but he’s still learning. With a little more practice, this guy will be a pro on leash in no time. He’s very engaged with his people, which is a great sign for future trainability… oh and he loves treats! Something tells me this guy will happily work for a snack! My favorite thing about Cashew? How sweet and mellow he was in our time together. He was shy at first, but once he warmed up, he gave me a snuggle on the couch that made me certain we were BFFs. This guy will make a perfect companion dog for anyone looking to be adored. Cashew is ready for his happily ever after! He would love a home with a backyard, where he can stretch his legs, but we could see him thriving in an apartment as well. We are willing to test Cashew with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
