My current foster writes:If want to play hide and seek with a cat, Tom is your guy! Whatever the game is - chasing a string, a ball, another cat, or you - Tom is up for it...literally. He wakes up from a deep sleep at the sound of a toy. He also likes to burrow in blankets and pounce on toys while covered. Often, he fluffs a finger-length portion of his fur along his spine when playing. When everyone is done playing, he sleeps, frequently on his back, though when he gets hot, he'll stretch out into a magnificent sploot. He loves to wrestle with our resident cats and has figured out how to adapt his play style to each of them. He's brought a lot of joy to our household and would be sure to bring it to yours as well!A volunteer writes:Poor Tom was so scared when he was found all by his lonesome in a building's lobby...Likely let go or left behind....It is may be why he is a little shy within our walls although I can see that he feels safe with us. Tom is a cute silverish young man on the small side. He likes to rest on his balcony where he enjoys treats, plays with catnip toys and feather wands. He welcomes petting and gentle words, rolls on his side and purrs. He shared for one day his life with another kitty who was kind of bullying him. Tom is not a fighter but a sweetheart and he likely would do well(providing as always slow introductions) with another gentle feline. Of course, he could also be your only pet if you choose so. Tom is waiting for his forever at the Manhattan Care Center. Ask to meet him and hopefully, take him home, for many happy years to come. What my friends at ACC say about me:I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I have lived with cats at ACC and I'm doing well with them in the Free Roaming Room, so I would likely do well in a multi-cat home. Primary Color: Gray Weight: 9.2 Age: 2yrs 1mths 3wks
