ABOUT ME... Hi, I’m Phoebe! I was born the day after Thanksgiving as part of an unexpected litter, lovingly referred to as “The Friends Litter.” My mom looks a lot like a black lab, but my foster mom thinks she’s probably a mix of shepherd, rottweiler, and bully. No matter what, my foster mom loves me just the way I am. She also mentioned that my dad has coonhound in him—he has long legs, which I’m lucky enough to have inherited! That means I can run super fast and jump really high. My foster mom calls me her big puppy. I think I’m going to be a good medium-sized pup, though—I’m not as big as my siblings, who are giants! I’M GREAT WITH... Other dogs and children! I’m a bit shy at first, so it’s best to take it slow when you first meet me. I can be skittish until I get to know you, but don’t worry—it doesn’t take long! Also, I’m a big fan of giving kisses! I’M GOOD WITH... Sleeping! My foster mom says I sleep through the night as long as I get plenty of playtime during the day to wear myself out. I’m also getting really good at jumping—really high! I’m still working on potty training outdoors but have been using pee pads. I’ve never met a cat yet, but I already know I’ll love playing with one! A FEW IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW... I’m still a young pup with tons of energy to spare! I’m super fast, super curious, and still learning important skills like recall. (Right now, I don’t always come when called—especially if I catch a good scent!) I’m also a bit of a climber and jumper—I’ve already cleared a toddler gate with ease! Because of all this, my foster mom thinks I’d do best in a home with a secure, high fence or with someone committed to giving me daily walks, structured playtime, and patient, positive training to help me grow into my best self. I’m smart and eager to learn—it just takes consistency and time. While I did live in a townhouse with two kids and eight dogs (yes, eight!), apartment living isn't the absolute ideal situation for me, but it is manageable—it just might come with a few extra challenges. I’d do best in an apartment (or any type of home) where I have regular access to outdoor space, mental enrichment, and plenty of exercise—especially if I’m your one-and-only or paired with a more mellow dog. I’d likely thrive in a home with a yard or with an active person or family who’s ready for a playful companion and some puppy-powered fun. If you’re looking for a sweet-natured, athletic pup who’s ready for adventure, cuddles, and learning the ropes of life by your side, I might be just the one for you! VETTING... ~All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. ~If booster shots have not been completed prior to adoption, they may be completed at our clinic in Columbus, OH at no additional expense. Alternatively, the adopter can use their own vet to boost vaccinations, at their own expense.
