My story

Meet Tula! Age: About 1 year Weight: ~80 lbs Tula's had a rough start. She was found as a stray in Meeker, OK—skinny, freezing, and surviving by eating rocks. Thankfully, Angel Fund OKC stepped in. They discovered she had a broken leg and was full of worms. After surgery (FHO) and lots of TLC, she’s come a long way and is thriving in her foster home. Tula is a quirky, energetic, and spunky girl. She’s currently living with four other dogs and gets along great with all of them. She’s also very interested in the house cat—wants to be friends, doesn’t understand why the cat doesn’t feel the same, but has never been aggressive. With proper introductions, she should do well with cats long-term. She loves going on walks (especially with another dog by her side) and is doing well on leash. She’ll benefit from continued obedience training to build confidence, but she’s a smart girl and eager to learn. Tula is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is mostly potty trained—impressive, considering she likely hadn’t lived indoors before. She loves to cuddle and will happily plop her 80-pound self into your lap. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals and any kind of ball—she’ll even play fetch by herself! Tula is sweet, resilient, and full of personality. She’s going to make an incredible companion for someone who’s ready for a big-hearted, playful girl.
