Malcolm McCormick

My story

Malcolm's mom had some serious health issues in 2024, but she, with help caring for Malcolm from both Sleepy Hollow Pet Ranch and Chihuahua Rescue, seemed to be on the mend and getting her life back on track. Unfortunately, something must have gone haywire. She moved out of her apartment at the end of February 2025 and left Malcolm behind. We're not sure how long he was by himself, but probably at least 10 days until he was found. Luckily the management had a CRIN foster's phone number and called us to come get him. When he came back to the rescue, Malcolm was dehydrated and had a low serum phosphorus which were corrected by getting regular feedings. There don't seem to be any other physical side effects of his ordeal. In spite of his mistreatment, Malcolm is a sweetheart. He loves being with his human and going on walks. He gets on well with other small dogs. Malcolm is reliably potty-trained as long as he is given the opportunity to go out on a regular basis. CG 3/11/25
