My story

Gizmo is a 5-year-old Coonhound/Treeing Walker mix with a story that will tug at your heartstrings. On March 1st, 2025, this sweet boy was found wandering the streets of Biloxi, scared and badly injured after being attacked by another stray. Thankfully, he was rushed to HSSM, where he received the urgent care he needed. With the love and dedication of the HSSM team, Gizmo made a full recovery—and in the process, he’s shown everyone just how special he truly is. Now, Gizmo is ready to find his forever home! His favorite pastime? Cuddling up with his favorite humans and soaking up as many belly rubs as possible. He also enjoys the company of other four-legged friends, though he appreciates slow introductions to feel safe and comfortable. Given his past, Gizmo would thrive in a calm, low-energy home—either as the only pet or with a laid-back furry sibling.
