My story

Meet Luka, a 50-pound 8-month old mixed breed boy!Luka came into FVHA as a surrender due to housing issues.Don`t let Lukas`s initial shyness fool you – underneath that timid exterior is a loving dog waiting to bloom! He is currently working on building confidence. This isn`t something that will change overnight, and Luka needs an owner who is prepared to work with this and provide a safe and secure environment. We are ideally looking for a quiet home that is exceptionally patient, understanding, and understands the importance of slow introductions and positive reinforcement. Luka can get a little worried when left alone for long periods or confined to small spaces, we`ve noticed he barks or cries. We are looking for a home where he will have company for most of the day or where adopters are committed to gradually helping him feel more secure when alone.Luka has lived with kids but can roughhouse and be a little too active for younger kids. We recommend he lives with older kids. Luka loves to play with other dogs but sometimes doesn’t understand signals from the other dogs he plays with here. He would love a confident, playful dog friend to keep him busy and show him the world isn’t a scary place.
