Trooper

My story

Trooper and Luther were seized by animal control after being found abandoned and living on chains without food for several weeks. They were underweight and in bad shape. They've now been vetted and have received adequate food and some TLC at a local boarding place. An NECR volunteer visited them and reports that they seem very well adjusted and not at all stressed. Both are loving and seemed pretty calm. Both are comfortable with being handled around face and head. They do need experience with leash walking and do pull but are easily corrected. Trooper has hygromas (fluid in joint areas) on hocks and elbows from years of sitting on pavement and hard ground, but they do not seem to bother him. Trooper is 7 - 9 yrs old and weighs about 45 lbs. Arriving in Massachusetts in early April. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Our dogs are in foster homes throughout the area or in some cases in the south waiting to be transported north. We do not have a physical shelter. Once the phone interview is completed, we will check your vet reference as well as a personal reference and conduct a home visit.
