My story

Yumi is a 1.5-year-old Bulldog mix who is eager to explore the world around her! Weighing in at 43 lbs, she makes the silliest noises when she's sleeping or sniffing on a walk, and her adorable full-body wiggles are sure to bring joy to any home. This sweet girl adjusted very easily to her foster home, and is both house-trained and crate-trained. While she was a little anxious for the first 24 hours, all she needs is some extra love and lots of blankets in her crate to keep cozy. She makes for a great roommate because of how she loves to lounge and snuggle—especially when belly rubs are involved!—and isn't noisy when left alone.Yumi thrives on mental stimulation and loves food puzzles, learning new tricks, and going on adventures. While she doesn’t need a fenced yard to burn off energy, her foster family says she does well with a mix of short and long walks throughout the day (totaling 1.5 to 2 hours). For future training, her new family should be mindful of her past as a stray dog and tendency to scavenge on walks, but training should be a breeze with positive reinforcement. When she's at home, she's happy to sniff around, play with soft toys and chew on a kong. She gets very curious about anything new and learns very quickly, so she should do well when introduced to new friends. He has hung out with some dogs and has been to a dog park. She can be a bit high-energy for some dogs but is respectful of the boundaries they set. She would love to go to a family who helps her learn how to meet new dog friends easily so she can have fun! Her foster family does not have concerns about being introduced to children or cats, but a proper introduction is always recommended. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate dog who’s eager to learn and cuddle, Yumi might be the perfect match for you!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Yumi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
