My story

Tuna is so incredibly sweet, wiggly and cuddly, that it is impossible not to fall in love with him. He is a dog for people who happily share their personal space, because he will be curled up pressed against you whenever possible. He seems to like warmth and happily wears a sweater when it`s cold. Tuna loves walks and walks pretty well, but gets overwhelmed when there are too many strangers too close by. For now that means he prefers walks in the neighborhood over the park, until he builds up his confidence. He seems to like dogs but is also a bit scared of them. When dogs bark behind a fence, he wants to bolt. Tuna`s play style still involves quite a bit of nipping and sometimes pulling on clothing. He is improving at getting redirected to toys, but still needs more work. For this reason, children at home must be 12 years or older. He likes rope toys, stuffies, flirt pole, jolly ball on a rope, and food filled toys.Tuna is not as much a social butterfly outside of the shelter than in the shelter. In particular, he needs a little more time to warm up to males, and is easily spooked by their sudden movements. He will need patience and gentle introductions. He gets under foot a lot, both in the house and on walks, so tread carefully! Come meet Tuna today! For additional details, please contact his foster, Ram at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or 281-202-9076. (PA/NB/RR 5/5/25)

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tuna, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
