Pilot is living in a foster home. Please submit an application and email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match! Scroll through his pictures to see his cute video content! Pilot was just the cutest little brindle boy we spotted down at Chicago Animal Care and Control. While all the other dogs were barking in their cages, he sat politely - quiet and just waiting for his turn out. He caught our attention right away, and we couldn't believe he had been there almost 2 months! He was truly "flying under the radar" and we had no idea why. We loved him and were so happy to rescue him, and send him to a loving foster home. Pilot is a precious boy - his brindle fur is rich, yet muted and the texture is soft and inviting to the touch. That really sums Pilot up - soft and inviting. He loves making new friends, comes when he's called, and accepts treats and snuggles with equal enthusiasm. When we first got him, the little guy lacked some confidence, and seemed anxious at times. He lived with this foster for 2 months, with 4 other dogs. His foster mom worked hard on training that will continue to build his confidence - and he truly has come so far. He is house-trained and crate trained, loves to play with toys, and go on pack walks with his dog siblings. He also attends playgroup at our shelter where he gets along with many of the other dogs. He coexists mostly, but will play a little once he is really comfortable with a specific dog. Pilot is now with a different foster in Lakeview, as an only dog, where he is soaking up all the love and attention. He is spending his days snuggling, watching Bluey while his foster mom works, and walks on the lake front. His foster mom describes him as AMAZING! He is an A+ cuddler, totally house-broken, fine being left alone, and is really just an all around good boy!! We can't wait to see Pilot get adopted and into a loving home - please ask about him today. Pilot's adoption fee has been generously sponsored by the Rosenthal Family Foundation! He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pilot, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
