My story

Meet Major, a gentle, affectionate pup who’s as happy on a sniff walk as he is curled up for a nap. This sweet, easygoing guy recently rocked the Furry 5K, making friends with dogs and people alike, and even impressed the baristas at A Muddy Cup Cafe with his calm café vibes (he just laid down and relaxed like a pro!).At home, Major is a mellow sweetheart who loves puzzle toys, super chewer bones, and following his person from room to room like the perfect shadow. He’s polite, doesn’t beg, and hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home. He lets you know when he needs to go out and is always ready for a walk or a car ride.Major already knows several tricks—sit, paw, lay down, and come—and he’s loving the training games his foster has been doing, especially learning “look” on walks to stay focused and confident. He’s doing great with this and continues to impress! He recently met a dog-savvy cat and handled it like a champ. With a slow intro, we think he could definitely live with feline friends.Major is full of love, face kisses, and loyalty—he’ll make an amazing companion for someone who wants a gentle, well-mannered best friend who’s always down for a little adventure and a lot of cuddles. The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal`s location.(If you cannot see the animal`s location, please view the pet`s profile through our website: https://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt)From the Dog Kennels/Kennel Group I/Kennel Group Q (in shelter):To meet this dog, please come to Seattle Animal Shelter at 2061 15th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119, between 1 - 5 pm Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
