You know that Happy dog song? The one that goes, "just a look at a happy, oh, the happy dog, but just a happy, happy, happy, dog." Well that's Shelly Seashell's theme song. If you have never heard of it, please google it and listen to it. That song is the perfect representation of Shelly LOL. She is the happiest girl with everything and everyone. Shelly is definitely the type of dog that will turn any bad day into the best one with her personality. She is so much more than just a happy girl though. Shelly is dog friendly, kid friendly, super smart, and of course...affectionate! Our favorite thing about Shelly is just how affectionate she is! From the moment we met her, she was only interested in love. This girl will snuggle up with you in a play yard full of playful dogs, she’ll take any opportunity for love. She’s so loving, such a comforting presence! We see lots of movie nights and couch snuggles in her future. Watch her video and fall in love with this happy and loving girl: https://youtu.be/tHascSE8gO4?feature=shared Shelly is a sweet and silly girl that’s entirely stolen our hearts. We believe she is a German Shepherd/lab mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 53 lbs and is full grown. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We believe Shelly would make a great family dog! She has spent time with a baby who is exactly 1 year old and she loved him and was fully comfortable about him. She wasn't phased by him crawling around, falling down (he is in that very wobbly stage of life), crying, any of his baby toys - including his loud and bulky walker, and just loved being there. Shelly at one point was even trying to lean up against him for affection. She's a girl that loves to love and just has so much of it to give. Shelly loved giving him kisses and showing him how much she loved him. She will need to learn about boundaries with tiny humans and that a few kisses are just as special as the the hundreds LOL. My son loves dogs and loved all the kisses she was giving him too. She's a smart girl and she fully respected when we did set those boundaries for her. It was cute because after she would look up at us like, "oh so sorry, I just love you guy so much I can't help it sometimes." Shelly would love to be apart of family with kids and become your kids best friend! With other dogs, Shelly is the best! She loves making friends with other dogs and wants them to her love her just as much as she loves them. Her name should actually be Lover because she really does love every dog and every person. She loves to play and loves finding those dogs that like to run, play chase, wrestle, and have a good time. She's so entertaining to watch when she is playing with other dogs because she turns into the happiest bounciest girl that wants to play with everyone. It no question that Shelly loves to play but she also knows when to take play breaks and is respectful with dogs that do not want to play. Not to say that she won't try, because she will but she understands and will either go find someone else to play with or she'll find a person to love on. Either way she's still happy as a clam. Shelly would love more than anything to be adopted out to a home that already has a dog, one that likes to play similarly to her, and a dog that enjoys those relaxing moments as well. If you don't have other dogs, that's okay too! She doesn't need the company of another dog to help her open up and feel comfortable, she already a social butterfly. But she will need daily exercise, a play session in the back yard or some form of mental stimulation for her to be fulfilled. When it comes to kitty friends, Shelly would do best in a home with out a feline friend. She was a little too interested in our house cat Biggie. Shelly has an adventurous heart and would love to go exploring with you before she winds down for evening snuggles. She would be a great companion to take with you on hikes, explore those trails you have saved on the map, or just run around town with you. She'll also love it if you stop at her favorite place to get a pup cup! She is trained to walk with a gentle lead and she walks like a dream on it. Shelly is also perfect little tandem walker too. We had the opportunity to see her tandem walk with a dog, and she didn’t pull to interact with him, she was just happy to be walking! Shelly is crate trained, potty trained, loves treats, and is eager to please. Any additional training you wish to do with her will be such fun and enjoyable experience for you both. Making you happy is one of her ultimate goals in life. Something else we love about Shelly: she absolutely adores toys and knows how to keep herself entertained. Not only does she love them but she is fetch superstar! She will chase after a ball or stuffy toy and bring it right back you and drop it at your feet. Queue the backyard fetch sessions! Speaking of backyards, we believe that Shelly would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs, get the occasional zoomies, and find that perfect spot in the grass so she can sunbathe. She would do best with a semi active family that is looking for a fun happy loving girl that enjoys going on adventures, wants a companion to play with, and also looking for their snuggle bug at the end of the day. We are willing to test Shelly with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
