My story

Calimander is the sweetest, most loving pup you’ll ever meet! During his time in foster, he`s proven to be an absolute gem—his favorite things include snuggling, giving kisses, and spending time with his people.He absolutely adores children and was fantastic with his foster family’s four kids (ages 5 to 17) and has loved every kid he`s met. Whether playing in the backyard, going on a run or hike with the older boys, or just relaxing at home, he was always gentle, affectionate, and eager to be part of the fun. He especially loved the younger kids, patiently accepting pets and showering them with kisses.When it comes to other dogs in the home, Calimander prefers female canine companions. He got along well with the resident female dog, but the male dog in the home wasn’t a fan of his presence. Out in public, though, he did wonderfully—ignoring other dogs while running or hiking with his foster family. He lived with multiple other dogs prior to the shelter and had shelter playdates.One of the most heartwarming things about Calimander is how his gentle eyes light up with joy when he knows he’s about to go on an adventure. He’s always ready for a walk, run, or hike, and he loves playing with toys—especially when he gets to pick them out himself! On a special trip to PetSmart, he excitedly grabbed three plush toys at once and proudly carried them to the register, tail wagging the whole way.Calimander is the perfect family dog in search of his family. He`s `perfectly house trained. He knows sit, lay down and speak. He is a cuddle bug and a sleepy head. He is an angel.` He had a rough start in life and he deserves the best family. He’s ready to find his forever home—a home filled with love, adventure, and plenty of snuggles! Could that be yours?
