Chipmunk OBCR-276

My story

Chipmunk has a heartwarming story filled with ups and downs. He first came to us at OCR as an unaltered male from a home that participated in our last litter program. In this program, we offer to spay or neuter mother cats for free if all the kittens are surrendered. This particular household had several unaltered adult cats, and we were pleased to assist them in arranging for all of them to be fixed. Not long after Chipmunk and his friends were neutered, we received an emergency call from the owner: Chipmunk had suffered a prolapsed rectum. After enduring this traumatic situation, the family could not afford the necessary veterinary care. Not wanting Chipmunk to suffer, we stepped in to help him. He underwent hospitalization for several days and was placed on a special diet. After his hospitalization, he returned home to his family with strict instructions to maintain a strictly wet food diet and to avoid outdoor access. A few months later, we tragically discovered that Chipmunk's family had moved away, leaving him behind to live outdoors while waiting for their return. Unfortunately, due to a poor diet while he was outside, Chipmunk experienced multiple severe prolapses. After careful consideration, we decided to pursue surgery for him, and we are thrilled to announce that it has been a success! Chipmunk has been issue-free for several months now and is finally ready for a forever home. Chipmunk is a joyful and affectionate boy who thrives on human companionship. He loves to curl up in your lap, snuggle at night, and truly be your best friend. He has plenty of playful energy and adores chasing wand toys. While he is indifferent to the presence of other cats, we aren’t sure how he would react to dogs, as he has never been around them. Chipmunk would do best in a home where someone is around often, as he deeply enjoys interaction and company. From a medical perspective, Chipmunk is in excellent health! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, tested for FIV and FeLV, flea-treated, and dewormed. The only special care he may occasionally require is a quick sanitary wipe after using the litter box.
