My story

Hi there! I’m Bessie, and I recently went on a little adventure with a very nice volunteer. Let me tell you all about it! We had such a lovely time walking along the Westside Beltline, despite a little drizzle. I wasn’t thrilled about the rain at first, but I still enjoyed sniffing all the plants. After about a mile, I decided I was done with the walk—I stopped, gave my volunteer “the look,” and then made a dash back to the car. Not bad for a 12-year-old girl, huh?We even stopped for a treat—a puppuccino! Now, I’ll admit, I was a little nervous at first, but we took our time and just enjoyed sitting in the car, savoring the moment together. It was a peaceful time, and I was happy to head back to the shelter afterward, where I’m well-loved and taken care of.Though I may be a bit older, I still have plenty of love to give! I might be small, but that makes me a perfect fit for almost any home—whether it’s a cozy apartment or a little house with a yard. I love getting outside and going for easy, relaxed walks. I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of other dogs, but I’m super sweet with people once I get to know them. I can be a little shy in the shelter environment, but trust me, in a calm and quiet home, I’ll be the loving companion you’ve been waiting for.What I really want now is a peaceful, quiet place to call my own. A home where I can relax, enjoy my walks, and just hang out with you. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, affectionate gal to share your days with, I think we could be the perfect match!
