My story

Adoption Event Schedule Events run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM every month at these locations: 2nd Saturday, Sacramento - Pet Food Express 3rd Saturday, Modesto - PetSmart 4th Saturday, Roseville - Pet Food Express Please visit the GCGSR Rescue Page for specific address information. Adoption Fee: $300 Magpie, aka Maggie, is a petite, 61 lb female, black and tan shepherd mix. According to the shelter, she is around 15 months old.  This little girl is one stellar pup! She is housebroken, with the use of a dog door, knows sit, stay and down. She wants nothing more than to please her human. She walks pretty well on leash, but does react to some dogs. This can be handled with a correction as soon as the dog is spotted.  Maggie does have some food issues. She goes after food like she had been starved previously. She is slowly learning how to wait and not wolf her food. Maggie will make someone an awesome dog! Understanding Dog Levels Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires. (https://www.gcgsr.org/adopt_info.html) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state.
