My story

Scooter is a shy soul who is looking for the perfect, patient family to call his own. At 2 years old, this shy and observant boy is still learning how to trust and feel comfortable in new situations. While he may be a bit of a `shy butterfly,` Scooter has a lot of love to give once he feels safe. Though Scooter is heartworm negative and healthy, he is still a little nervous about being on a leash. It will take some time, patience, and understanding to help him feel confident walking alongside you, but with some gentle guidance, we believe he’ll flourish. Scooter would thrive in a home where he is the only pet, as he enjoys a quiet and calm environment where he can bond one-on-one with his forever family. He came to HSSM as a stray on March 15, 2025, and now he’s hoping to find a family who can offer him the love and patience he needs to thrive. If you’re looking for a loving, sweet boy who just needs a little extra time to feel at home, Scooter may be the perfect companion for you. With your understanding, he’ll blossom into the loyal and affectionate pup you’ve been waiting for!
