My story

Meet Ice – the handsome gentleman with the striking eyes and a heart full of love! At 8 years old and 64 pounds, Ice may be in his golden years, but don’t let that fool you—he’s full of life, personality, and charm. With a stunning coat and a lovable face, he turns heads wherever he goes. Ice can be a medium to strong puller on leash, but it's mostly excitement—he's just thrilled to be out and about, taking in all the new sights and smells. He jumps eagerly into the car and would probably love to ride shotgun, so his future family should make sure he’s safely secured in the back seat to keep him safe and cozy. Affectionate and social, Ice thrives on being close to his people. He’s a total lap dog at heart and will happily soak up all the pets and attention you’re willing to give. He sits politely for treats (which he *loves*) and takes them gently, showing off his excellent manners. Ice isn’t reactive to other dogs and seems only mildly curious, so with the right introductions, he could do well around canine companions. That said, he can get a little excited when meeting new people and may jump up for attention, so he might not be the best fit for homes with small children right now. What Ice really needs is a yard—a place to stretch his legs, play with his favorite toys, and burn off some energy. He even enjoys digging through the toy bin to pick out just the right one! Ice is ready to bring love, loyalty, and fun into your life. If you're looking for a sweet, spirited companion who just wants to be near his people, come meet Ice—you might just find your new best friend. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ice, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
