My story

Meet Api! This 2-year-old tabico is a very special girl looking for her perfect match. Her ideal day includes napping, watching out the windows, and dramatically rolling over onto her back when her people refuse to feed her 2 breakfasts. As a professional birdwatcher and toy aficionado, she truly knows how to get the best out of life. While being picked up isn’t Api’s favorite (she’s an independent girl!), she is never very far, always curling up next to you or rubbing up against you for pets. She is currently on a diet, but she still enjoys showing off her smarts with food puzzles and scavenger hunts. And she is always ready to get some exercise in by pouncing on her toys, or just zooming around the house! Api does have a few quirks, but which of us doesn't? She has been accused of being a bit of a troublemaker sometimes, usually while in search of snacks to steal. Api, of course, denies all allegations. Her big personality can be a lot for other cats, so she would do best either as an only cat, or with a tolerant cat that will accept her constant attempts to play with, cuddle, and groom them (whether they like it or not!) If there are no cats around, she’s always happy to play with you instead! She has also lived with dogs, and would likely do fine with an easygoing canine companion. Api does have a history of stress-related behaviors in the home. She is on an inexpensive, once a day medication to keep her the happy, affectionate cat she is, and has been doing great without any issues since starting it. She does best when she has outlets for her energy, and enjoys having daily playtime with people using wand toys or other games. While she is friendly to kids, she would do best in a home without young children, in order to keep her as stress-free as possible. Api is looking for a calm, low-traffic home, ideally with experienced adopters. She is still here at Darbster Kitty, just waiting to meet her forever family!
