Oh, so you want the ultimate fluffy, cuddly, ride-or-die bestie? Someone who will adore you unconditionally, always be by your side, and maybe even telepathically sense when you need emotional support? Well, congratulations—you’ve just met Frog! Yes, her name is Frog. No, she’s not slimy or green, but she will hop into your heart and take over your entire life (in the best possible way, of course). Think of her as a living, breathing weighted blanket—except with opinions, occasional stubbornness, and a serious case of “I must be touching you at all times.” So, if you’re ready for a fluffy best friend who will love you more than you love yourself, Frog is waiting. Frog’s life so far has been a series of unfortunate events—like a real-life version of “why can’t this poor dog catch a break?”Her previous owners, in a moment of tragic obliviousness, ran over her foot. Cue a trip to the vet, where it was discovered her tiny puppy toes were broken in multiple places. Since surgery wasn’t in their budget, euthanasia was the option chosen. Thankfully, the vet reached out to us and her owners agreed to surrender her. And really, how were we supposed to say no to that face? As if that wasn’t enough, it turns out Frog had already been adopted from the shelter once before, so this poor girl has had more reboots than a bad movie franchise. She ended up spending over a month in vet rehab. Now, she’s in a foster home, living her best life and learning to trust that humans can be decent. Her foot has fully healed, but convincing her to actually use the leg properly is still a work in progress. She’s been through so much that she sometimes overdoes it—probably trying to make up for lost time. Her new family will need to help her find the sweet spot between zoomies and chill time while she works on getting back to full strength. So, if you’re looking for a dog with an underdog story, a heart of gold, and just the right amount of dramatic flair, Frog is ready to hop into your life (yes, we went there). Frog is a 8-month-old, 43lb female Great Pyrenees. Frog doesn’t just love other dogs—she LOVES them. Personal space? Never heard of it. She’s that overly friendly coworker who hugs on the first day and saves you a seat at lunch even though you just met. If she had a phone, she’d be sending every dog she meets a “Good morning, bestie!” text. If your current dog is the canine equivalent of a grumpy old man who just wants to be left alone, Frog is not going to respect that. She will be in their face, trying to start a friendship bracelet club. She’s fine with cats… in the way that a toddler is “fine” with a stack of breakable plates. She doesn’t want to hurt them, she just wants to play. A cat that can handle being bounced at and zoomed past? Cool. A cat that takes offense at being seen and acknowledged? Probably not her ideal housemate. Now, kids? Frog is all for them! She’s over the whole “chewing on people” phase (thankfully), and she loves getting kisses and giving them right back. Due to her past injuries, she’d do best with older kids or gentle little ones—basically, children who understand that she is not a jungle gym, no matter how soft and cloud-like she looks. And let’s talk about her enthusiasm for humans. Frog might as well be a golden retriever disguised as a Great Pyrenees. She doesn’t just like people—she needs them. If you make eye contact? You are now her best friend. If you invite people over who don’t want a thick layer of dog fur as a parting gift or aren’t thrilled about being adored and smothered in kisses? Too bad, because Frog is here to love, and if that is a dealbreaker we are going to have to ask you to keep scrolling. Frog is that friend—the one who always wants to be in on everything. You know, the one who can’t just sit at brunch but has to be part of every conversation, sample everyone’s food, and somehow end up in all the selfies. Her energy level? A solid 9 out of 10. Not because she’s bouncing off the walls in a destructive tornado of chaos (though, let’s be honest, there is some bouncing), but because she’s enthusiastic about everything. Frog missed out on a proper puppyhood, so she’s making up for lost time. Every experience is brand new and AMAZING. A leaf blows by? Wow! A squirrel exists? Incredible! The couch? A revelation! The TV? Life-changing! If there’s a dog on-screen, she’s watching with full emotional investment. She loves car rides, but for safety reasons, we highly recommend a seat belt—unless, of course, you enjoy surprise mid-drive cuddles while you’re trying to merge onto the highway. On walks, she zigzags like a GPS with a bad signal, trying to take in every smell, sight, and sound at the same time. But don’t worry—she’s super smart and eager to please, so with a little patience (and maybe some upper body strength), she’ll have great leash manners in no time. Her dream home? One with adventure, activity, and people who love being adored. She’d thrive with an active family, doggy playmates who won’t mind her in-their-face affection, and humans who are fully prepared for daily bounce attacks of joy. If you love hiking, playing, snuggling, and the idea of having a permanent fluffy shadow, Frog is your girl. The wrong home? Someone who values their personal space, has a dog that gives off “retired grump” energy, or thinks they can own a fluffy dog and not have a layer of fur on every surface they own. If you want a couch potato, a dog who “respects” boundaries, or a pet that won’t enthusiastically kiss every single guest you invite over, keep scrolling—Frog is here to love and she is not sorry about it. If you’re ready for a bouncing, loving, pure-joy-in-dog-form companion who will turn every moment into an adventure, Frog is waiting. Just know that once she hops into your life, you will wonder how you ever lived without her. Frog is a very accomplished young lady—potty trained, kennel trained, and highly skilled in the art of sock relocation. That’s right, your socks are no longer yours. They belong to Frog now. And while you may see this as theft, she sees it as a redistribution of joy. Because nothing, and I mean nothing, brings her more happiness than parading around with a sock like it’s a grand prize. Shoes, toys, the occasional unfortunate remote? Also fair game. But hey, it’s all part of her charm. She’s also fluent in human. Not only will she bark to alert you of important things (like the wind blowing, a shadow moving suspiciously, or—gasp!—someone existing outside), but she will also let you know when she is displeased. Didn’t pet her fast enough? Expect a stern talking-to. Denied her request for a fourth dinner? She will argue her case. Think you’re watching TV without including her? Think again. If you’ve ever wanted a fluffy, four-legged roommate who always has an opinion, Frog is so your girl. Now, let’s talk ideal homes. If you love an interactive dog who will not only follow you around but actively participate in your life—conversations included—Frog is perfect. If you don’t mind a little (okay, a lot) of hair, constant companionship, and a dog who believes in the “sharing is caring” rule when it comes to your belongings, she’s meant for you. A home with other playful dogs? Even better. She will be their new best friend, whether they like it or not. Think you’re up for the challenge of endless love, constant entertainment, and the occasional heartfelt debate about why she definitely deserves a second dinner? Then hop (see what we did there?) on over to our adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app! Once you fill it out, we’ll send it to her foster family for review to make sure you are indeed her happily ever after. And yes, you’ll need to come physically claim your new bestie in Midwest City, OK. Because, unfortunately, we do not offer Frog Express Shipping. So grab your application, pack some snacks, and get ready for a lifetime of love, laughter, and enthusiastic bouncing. 🐸✨
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Frog, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
