My story

Jerry is a 4½-year-old medium-large mixed breed with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a past that shows just how resilient he is. He came to Paws Humane Society as a stray on March 23, 2025, with a heartbreaking injury—a collar embedded into his neck that required immediate medical attention. Thankfully, he’s healing well and showing us more of his true self every day. Jerry is a wild child at heart—full of energy, excitement, and a lot of enthusiasm. He gets overstimulated easily and doesn't quite know his own size or strength, so he’ll need a patient, experienced adopter who’s ready to commit to consistent training. He has a very rowdy play style and takes a while to settle down once he’s revved up, but we believe with structure and love, he’ll learn how to channel that energy. Beneath all the chaos is a sweet, goofy boy who just wants connection. When someone he’s fond of approaches his kennel, Jerry lights up—wagging his whole body and proudly showing off his favorite toy or blankie like a kid bringing home a gold star. It’s impossible not to smile. Jerry is also very food motivated, which will be a huge asset in his training journey. With time, guidance, and positive reinforcement, Jerry has so much potential to grow into a loyal, loving companion.
