Meet FiFi Sassafrass! FiFi is a 2-year-old French Bulldog with a stunning lilac merle coat and the most precious, expressive eyes. She was found as a stray and brought into the Freedom Squad when her owner never came for her. Despite her rough start, FiFi has blossomed into a funny, spicy, and affectionate little lady who is ready to find her forever home. Personality Quirks: This girl is full of personality! She absolutely loves people and will be your little shadow, following you from room to room. She thrives on attention and enjoys being the center of your world. While she is still learning how to interact with other dogs, she has a great time playing with the younger foster siblings in her current home. However, she does resource guard her toys and food, which is common in rescue Frenchie’s. To help her feel secure, she eats in her crate, and we are slowly teaching her that she is safe and doesn’t need to guard her things. With time, confidence, and trust in humans, this behavior can improve. Training Adventures: FiFi is crate trained and sees her crate as a safe space where she can relax. She is mostly potty trained, never having poop accidents in her crate, and only very rarely having a pee accident overnight. She is also doing well with her leash training, although she gets excited and may pull—she just loves going on adventures! This girl is talkative and full of silly sounds and conversations, making every moment with her entertaining. Medical Needs: Medically, FiFi has no major concerns, but her body structure is unique. She has a compact frame with long legs, and her back legs are slightly taller than usual. While she currently shows no signs of IVDD, it is something to be mindful of as she ages. Preventing her from jumping off furniture and providing daily joint supplements will help keep her strong and healthy. She was recently spayed, which should help balance her hormones. She does have one funny habit—sometimes, she self-entertains (if you know, you know). It’s not an ongoing issue, and with her recent spay, it should fade over time. It’s hard not to laugh, but it’s something to redirect when needed! Transition Life: FiFi would do best in a home that understands the 3-3-3 rule—three days to decompress, three weeks to learn the routine, and three months to fully settle in. If you already have a dog, patience will be key in teaching them both that sharing is caring. She would love a mix of adventure and cuddle time, whether that means strolling through the farmer’s market or snuggling up on the couch. This little girl is an absolute joy, bringing love, laughter, and personality into every room she enters. If you’re looking for a Frenchie who will make you smile every single day, FiFi is ready to be your new best friend.
