Hitch McShambles

My story

Hitch is around a year old and weighs around 25 pounds. He is a sweet natured little guy that loves other dogs, and LOVES to snuggle. He has the world’s softest fur. Hitch is doing great with house and kennel training, and has, never been destructive in the house. He was found in the park with a sibling, and no one came forward to claim him. Hitch had a gash on his head, and we believe he suffered some head trauma that left him a little uncoordinated….i think it adds to his charm, and it definitely doesn’t slow him down a bit. He does zoomies in the yard, can navigate stairs, and does great with the doggie door. He does not seem to be able to figure out how to jump up on a bed or sofa though… I promise if you meet this guy you will fall in love, everyone that has come over to my house is smitten! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above,) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.
