Abby

My story

Abby is a wonderful, quirky, intelligent momma dog who has had a rough life, but doesn't show her age or past struggles a bit! She was found as a terribly emaciated and highly pregnant dog, giving birth to two pups: one stillborn, and one incredibly large living puppy, Tiff. She and Tiff lived happily with the family that initially found Abby, until the girls were probably 7 and 8 years old. The family ran a daycare for special needs children, and the girls had done well, but when the family added goats to the property, the girls were set on going and messing with them, so the family turned the girls over to rescue. Since then, they've sat in rescue for 2 years! Abby and her daughter Tiff are incredibly playful, and eager to learn and do tricks. They've been with probably 8 other dogs of various ages and personalities, ranging from pups to other older dogs, and have done well. After coming to rescue, despite (or perhaps due to) coming from a daycare situation, the girls have seemed a little uncomfortable with particularly wild children under the age of 6, and possibly children under 9-11 years old, so are recommended to a home with gentle pre-teen or older kids. Abby and Tiff are incredibly well-behaved in the house, and do well crated as well. They travel nicely in a car, and are just really agreeable wonderful dogs! They know how to chill and hang out, but they're also happy to let loose their inner silliness with themselves or you in the yard! Abby loves to throw herself on the ground for belly rubs, and Tiff gives the cutest smiles!!
