My story

Hi! I`m Tuxedo!I`m not a fence climber, but I will run if I’m outside without a leash or fence. No joke—I’ll bolt like a cartoon character with the little puff of smoke behind me. But if I know I can’t get out of a yard (like, gates are super secure), then I’m totally fine just hanging out. Just don’t leave the gate open... I’ve got places to be (even if I don’t know where I’m going).Hi, I`m still working on this whole `house-trained` thing—I`m trying, I promise! I do really well in my crate, especially if I`m not left with too much freedom (because... well... I’ll get into stuff if it’s there to get into). If you leave me out, you might come home to a shredded sock or two. Or three. So yeah, I’m what they call a “shredder.”I’ve got some separation anxiety—I`m a Velcro dog through and through. I just love being with my person. We’ve been working on it, and I’ve gotten better with short absences followed by calm praise and treats. But yeah, if I think you’re leaving without me (especially when I’m being told to go outside alone), I’ll need a little convincing. Positive reinforcement helps a lot!I get super excited when I meet new people—whether they`re guys or gals. I haven`t met any kids yet, but I bet I`d be excited about them too. I also haven’t met any other dogs up close, but sometimes I bark at them on walks because they make me nervous. Cats? Oh, I live with some! But I chase and paw at them, and haven’t quite figured out the whole “gentle” thing yet. We’re working on it.Squirrels and birds? Oh yeah—I see them. I get excited, but I don’t go nuts. I also get excited for food, treats, walks, yard time, toys, attention… basically anything that involves doing stuff or being with you.I love toys but, uh… I destroy them. Stuffing? Gone. It’s kind of my thing. So give me tough stuff—antlers, hard bones, puzzle toys. Those help me self-soothe, especially when I can’t be glued to your side 24/7 (which is my dream, btw). I’m also a laser pointer chaser—zoom zoom!I know some cool tricks! I can sit, stay, give paw, lay down, and we’re working on “crawl” and “crate.” I take treats nicely, but I’m still working through some food guarding habits. I’ve never bitten, but I can get a little tense, so we’re using training and hand feeding to help me feel safe and relaxed.Walking outside is a mix of “YAY!” and “AHH!” depending on the day. I can be a little scared, especially in new places or if something su
